About this paddle
Who it's for
This is for the person who wants a net in a place that does not have one. A driveway. A gym floor with tape down for lines. A back yard, a cul-de-sac, a rec center hall on a Tuesday night. It is also for the drill session where the net is simply something the ball has to clear.
How it plays
A net splits the space and makes you hit up. What this one adds is that it goes away afterward: it rolls up, goes in a trunk, and comes back out next weekend somewhere else. You hang it at the height you want between whatever you are hanging it from. That is the trade for a net that is not bolted down.
The face
The mesh is nylon. Nylon is what you want outdoors: light for its strength, and it does not drink water the way a natural fiber does or rot after a season left damp. The weave is an open grid, so wind passes through it rather than pushing the whole net sideways.
Shape and reach
Four lengths, one height:
- 10 ft
- 13 ft
- 17 ft
- 20 ft
Every one of them stands 33.9 in tall. Choose by the space you have. Measure the span between your two attachment points and take the length that crosses it with a little to spare.
In the box
The net only. No posts, no frame, no legs. We would rather say that twice than have you open a box expecting a stand. If you already own posts, a frame, or two solid things to tie between, this is the piece you are missing. If not, sort that out before you buy.
Care and lifespan
Let it dry before it goes away. Nylon handles rain perfectly well, but a net rolled up wet and left in a trunk comes back out smelling like the trunk. Shake the grass out, hang it over a chair back until it is dry, then roll it rather than fold it. Check the ends each season and stop a snag early, since a small tear does not stay small.
